Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is very difficult in a small school like Woodford to predict the financial future. Even losing a relatively small amount of students can play havoc with effective budgeting. For that reason we ask parents to commit for next year by paying a Seat Fee as soon as possible (invoices will be sent out in the next few days). These monies allow the school to purchase basic requirements for next year in a timely manner. This is crucial as many of our teaching supplies and equipment are imported and need to be purchased now to ensure arrival for the start of the 2018 School Year. A healthy cash flow now avoids the high interest costs of short-term borrowing. Your understanding and prompt payment is greatly appreciated.
Year 5 Action Project
Year 5 students have been very busy working on their PYP Exhibition, which will be on Thursday and Friday of week 8. Part of the exhibition is for students to take action. The social service exhibition group’s action is collecting items for the Christian Care Centre and they are asking parents to donate clothes, books, toys and stationery items. You can drop your items off in the designated box in the breezeway.
Swimming lessons will resume next week and will run till week 10.
IGCSE information evening for Year 8 Parents, Guardians and Students
Parents, guardians and students are invited to attend an information session on Friday November 10 at 5 pm at Woodford International School. The session is intended to introduce its audience to Cambridge IGCSE (Year 9 and 10) programme and pathways beyond. This is a must-attend session which will be followed by optional one-on-one interactions. It is highly recommended that the session be attended by all Year 8 parents.
Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Developed over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools worldwide.
