For UOI4 the years 5’s are inquiring into how technological innovation influences our world. To investigate our world’s ability to sustain progress and the availability of technology around the world the year 5 class went on an excursion to the Lungga Power Station. The students found out about the challenges faced by the Solomon Power to provide power to whole nation and resources needed to do that. They students really enjoyed the excursion because they got to see the generators and transformers producing power to the nation.
We would like to thank Mr. Atkinson Talvat and Mr. Robin Simpson from the Solomon Power for coming to the Year 5’s classroom and giving a presentation about how Solomon Power operates and safety around electricity. We would also like to thank Mr. Rex our faithful school bus driver, for driving us up to the Lungga Power Station and patiently waiting for us.
Also we would like to thank the parents who came on Sunday to pick their child up after the excursion.
